Jupiter is exalted in Karka (deepest at 5°), debilitated in Makara, with moolatrikona in Dhanu 0°–10° and own signs Dhanu and Meena. Friends are the Sun, Moon and Mars; Mercury and Venus are enemies; Saturn is neutral. Jupiter casts special aspects on the 5th and 9th houses from itself in addition to the 7th — the most benefic aspects in the system — and gains directional strength in the 1st house. His debilitation in Makara is among the most frequently cancelled, Saturn's own strength commonly supplying the neecha bhanga.
