Graha Drishti
Graha drishti is planetary aspect: the glance a planet casts across the chart
Graha drishti is planetary aspect: the glance a planet casts across the chart. Every planet watches the house opposite it, and Mars, Jupiter and Saturn each watch two extra places — their special aspects. An aspect lets a planet touch a house, or another planet, that it sits nowhere near — shaping it from a distance. The colour of that touch follows the planet: a benefic's glance, Jupiter's above all, tends to protect, steady and grow whatever it falls upon, while a malefic's glance tends to press, test or restrain it. So a difficult house can be softened by a kindly aspect, and a promising one strained by a harsh one, without any planet ever entering it; and when two planets aspect each other they fall into a kind of dialogue across the chart, each lending its nature to the other — often a stronger, cleaner bond than sitting side by side. Saturn is the clearest example: it is often said to work more through its gaze than its company. Where a conjunction crowds two planets into one place, Saturn's aspect reaches out and holds a planet or house at arm's length — slowing it, disciplining it, asking it to mature — and that steady pressure is frequently felt more keenly than Saturn simply sitting alongside. Jupiter is its mirror: the 5th and 9th glances are among the most protective in the whole chart, able to bless and even rescue a house from clear across the sky.
Parashara grants every graha a full aspect on the 7th from itself; Mars additionally on the 4th and 8th, Jupiter on the 5th and 9th, Saturn on the 3rd and 10th — with partial glances on intermediate places graded by the sputa-drishti curve.

The engine applies the classical sputa-drishti curve on every production path (engine 1.6.0 ruling) with the node convention that Rahu and Ketu cast no drishti and receive all. A benefic's aspect protects and grows what it touches; a malefic's presses it — the polarity every bhavaphal aspect condition encodes.
