Parashara describes Dhanu as a dual fiery sign, male, kshatriya, rising with its hinder part, tawny, dwelling in armouries and royal courts — an archer, man to the waist and horse below. Its lord is Guru, whose moolatrikona occupies its first 10 degrees; the classical seven take neither exaltation nor fall here.
