कुम्भ Kumbha

Parashara describes Kumbha as a fixed airy sign, male, shudra in the classical listing, rising head-first, deep brown, dwelling near water-houses and taverns — a man bearing a pot. Its lord is Shani, whose moolatrikona occupies its first 20 degrees; the classical seven take neither exaltation nor fall here.

A sthira vayu-tattva sign ruled by Saturn, carrying his moolatrikona (0°–20°); on the platform's node convention Rahu is treated as co-lord. For Kumbha lagna Venus is the yogakaraka (4th and 9th lord) — the last of the five classical yogakaraka lagnas — and the Saturn–Venus friendship makes that pairing the chart's load-bearing axis; the luminaries carry the 6th and 7th lordships and are read with corresponding care.
