Third House
The third house governs courage, self-effort, younger siblings, communication, and short journeys
See where Third House falls in your birth chart — the sign, house and nakṣatra it occupies.
The third house governs courage, self-effort, younger siblings, communication, and short journeys. It is the house of the hands: skills, writing, and the daily push that turns intent into motion.
Parashara assigns to the sahaja bhava younger brothers and sisters, valour, the ears, and short travels. An upachaya (growing) house, malefics here are traditionally welcomed: they harden into persistence and competitive nerve rather than damage, so long as the lord holds up.
— Brihat Parashara Hora Shastra bhāva considerations
Mars as karaka gives the courage reading; the lord's strength gives the sibling and skill reading. As an upachaya, occupying malefics improve with time and are scored leniently; benefics here are pleasant but comparatively passive. In the salience maps of this platform the 3rd supports the business and career domains (self-effort); classical sources also read the right ear and the native's initiative in undertakings from here.
