विंशोपक बल Viṁśopaka Bala

Vimsopaka bala is a planet's report card across the divisional charts, marked out of twenty. The birth chart shows where a planet stands; the divisional charts show how it holds up when life is examined domain by domain — marriage in one chart, career in another, the deep karmic grain in the subtlest. A planet can look splendid in the rashi chart and quietly fall apart as the divisions are opened, or look ordinary on the surface while standing in dignity after dignity underneath. Vimsopaka bala turns that scattered picture into a single number: each of ten divisional charts contributes a weighted share of twenty points, the planet earning its share where it stands well and losing it where it stands in an enemy's house. The weighting is deliberate — the rashi chart counts for much, and the shashtiamsa, the sixty-fold division said to carry the karmic residue of past lives, counts for the most.
