Parivartana Yoga FAQ

Parivartana Yoga is a Vedic astrology combination formed by a mutual exchange of signs between two house lords. It creates a strong connection between the houses involved and can become highly supportive or highly challenging depending on which houses and lords take part in the exchange.

Parivartana Yoga forms when one house lord occupies the sign owned by another house lord, and that second lord occupies the sign owned by the first. This mutual exchange links both houses directly and makes their themes strongly influence each other.

The calculator checks whether two lords are in exact mutual sign exchange and then identifies the house lords involved. It also reviews whether the exchange falls under a more favourable or more difficult category based on the houses connected and the strength of the planets involved.

The results depend on the houses involved. Benefic exchanges can support success, wealth, fortune, or career rise, while difficult exchanges can bring struggle, delay, pressure, or lessons through the connected house themes. A strong exchange usually makes the linked houses very active in life.

The exchange can become harder to handle when the involved lords are weak, afflicted, combust, or placed in difficult house contexts. Even a powerful exchange may produce mixed results if one or both planets are under strong malefic pressure.

Maha Yoga

Depending on the houses and planets involved, this yoga can be auspicious or inauspicious. The parivartan between Kendra/Trikon and 2nd, 11th houses produces Maha Yoga, which is auspicious, doubling the total effects of both houses involved in Yoga.

Dainya Yoga

Similarly, the Parivartan between the two dusthana house lords (6th, 8th or 12th Lords) or if dusthana Lord is involved in a parivartan gives rise to Dainya Yoga amplifying the net effect of dusthana houses.

Khala Yoga

When 3rd Lord is involved in the Parivartan yoga, then Khala yoga is formed in the horoscope. Khala Yoga is not very harmful like Dainya yoga and usually the native shows courage and a hardworking mentality towards the matters of houses involved.
